To apply for any of the Academic Programs offered by IIIT-B, you are required to first register by filling in the registration form and submitting it for creation of a user account. A link would then be sent to the email id you have provided in the registration form. Using the link you can login to the admissions portal, complete the application form and track the status of your application too.

Welcome to the IIIT-B Candidate Application Submission and Tracking system. IIIT-Bangalore does set very high standards for admission to its various academic programs. The admissions decisions are taken after a rigorous selection process. We encourage applicants with excellent credentials to apply for our academic research programs.

IIIT-B requires you to furnish several details about your academic and other credentials to complete your application. We do recognize that you may need time to gather all the data required for your application. The application form is therefore spread across multiple pages. You can fill the details required in any order at your pace. You can logout after filling the form partially and the details saved will be retrieved the next time you login, so you do not have to fill them in again. Please ensure you save your application form periodically to avoid any loss of information due to exigencies. After completing the application you can submit the application for further processing. All the sections need to be completed before you can submit your application. The application cannot be edited after submission. You cannot edit or submit the application beyond the last date for submission. Refer to the Application Checklist for an overview of the requirements to complete the application process.

Application Process and Checklist for Research Admissions

A summary of the application process is given below.

  1. Registration - this will create a unique user id (your email) for you that can use to access the site with throughout the application process. This triggers an email to your registered email address.
  2. Click on the link in the registration email to activate your account. You may have to change your default password to something of your choice.
  3. Login with your email and password and fill the application completely. Application can be filled in parts and saved at your convenience.
  4. Fill in the details of at least 2 referees. They will be contacted directly by IIIT-B by email. The referees will requested to upload their recommendations directly on this portal.
  5. Submit the application before the deadline -
  6. Watch this portal for updates on your application.

The following checklist would help you be prepared with the application process. We suggest you keep the required information / documents ready before you start applying.

2 Details of Academic Qualifications - from 10th to PG (if applicable). This must include institution, year of passing, marks/grades in each course/subject and a consolidated pdf of degree certificate along with the transcripts with all the marks and grades.
3 Details of Competitive Exams (GRE, GATE, JEST etc.) you may have taken. Some of these may be necessary for the specific program / domain that you may be applying to. Please check the Call for Applications for details. The details required would include exam name, score obtained and soft (scanned) copy of the score sheet.
4 Your choice of the research domain and specific area(s) in which you want to pursue research.
5 Statement of Purpose, Research Preparation documents that you are expected to write to let us know your motivation and preparedness for the research program that you are applying for. These must be uploaded as individual documents in either .pdf or .doc form.
6 (Optional) Document (.pdf or .doc) listing all your publications / patents if any along with soft copies of 2 representative publications of yours.
7 (Optional) Document (.pdf or .doc) detailing your work-experience if any.
8 Email and contact details of at least 2 referees who can vouch for your research potential and credentials. Please note that the referees will be contacted directly by IIIT-B requesting them to upload their recommendations directly on the portal.
9 Application fee of ₹ 1000/- to be transferred by NEFT to a HDFC Bank account linked to your application id (this will be generated when you register).
